Priyanka Chopra and Sam Heughan are hitting the big screen with Celine Dion for a new romantic comedy. The movie, called “Love Again,” sees Dion play herself as a guide, of sorts, as the two main characters try to find love together. Sony Pictures shared the first trailer on Fab. 14, Valentine’s Day. The trailer also includes a fun surprise: a cameo by Chopra’s husband, Nick Jonas.
The movie was previously titled “It’s All Coming Back to Me,” named after Dion’s iconic hit. The movie centers on Mira (Chopra) who tragically loses her fiancé. To cope, she starts texting his old cell phone. But that number now belongs to a new man, Rob (Heughan), who is going through a heartbreak of his own. Rob’s a journalist who just happens to be profiling Dion, and he asks the legendary singer to help him out. In the trailer, Rob and Mira connect IRL before he comes clean about their other link. Can their love overcome the deceit? The movie is a remake of the 2016 German movie “SMS für Dich” and is written and directed by James C. Strouse (“The Incredible Jessica James”).
The movie marks Dion’s acting debut and will use her existing music, but she also has multiple new songs in the movie. Of course, it’s not her first time creating music for a movie. Dion recorded the title song from “Beauty and the Beast” with Peabo Bryson in 1991, and in 1997, she recorded the theme for “Titanic,” “My Heart Will Go On,” which is Dion’s bestselling song of all time. More recently, Dion sang “Ashes” for “Deadpool 2” after star Ryan Reynolds personally wrote her a letter asking her to join the project.
Meanwhile, Chopra was most recently seen in 2021’s “Matrix Resurrections.” In January 2022, she and Jonas welcomed their first child, Malti. Heughan, on the other hand, has been busy starring on “Outlander,” which will end with season eight.
Ahead, here’s what we know about “Love Again.”
