Carrie Fisher is headed back to the silver screen, seven years after her death.
The distribution rights to the actress’ last project, Wonderwell, has been picked up by Vertical, according to Deadline.

The film was delayed for a “perilous” seven years due to Fisher‘s unexpected death as well as delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, shared the film’s director Vlad Marsavin.
But he says, “Now is the perfect time to share [Fisher’s] magical on screen moments as Hazel.”
Wonderwell, which also stars Rita Ora, Nell Tiger Free, Sebastian Croft and Kiera Milward, will include a dedication to the late actress.

Cast and crew recalled working with the acting legend, reminiscing about the memories they made on set.
”Carrie was full of energy during filming and even celebrated her 60th birthday with us in Italy where we shot the movie,” Marsavin shared.
“After a night shoot, which went on until 2am, she invited the whole team to celebrate with her and the party ended up being shut down by the police because it was deemed a little too loud.
“Her passing was very emotional for the whole team.”
