Carl Froch calls on LIFETIME BAN for Dillian Whyte if found guilty of doping after Anthony Joshua fight cancelled

CARL FROCH wants Dillian Whyte’s career killed off IF he is found guilty of doping.

The 35-year-old Brixton slugger has had his Anthony Joshua rematch on Saturday night cancelled after adverse findings were found in his Vada testing.

Promoter Eddie Hearn took swift action, cancelling the bout almost immediately and starting the hunt for a late replacement.

Whyte emotionally protested his innocence and was stunned to wake up and see his career-defining bout and payday had been axed.

And former super-middleweight world champ Froch agrees that a thorough investigation is needed before judgement – but he never wants to see the veteran fight again if he’s guilty.

“I don’t know what now for Dillian Whyte,” the Cobra hissed on his YouTube channel. “We are in a position where he is 35 years old and he has failed a drug test.

“This is going to look terrible for him and what does the future hold for him?

“He needs to clear his name but that could take six months.

“Dillian Whyte must be devastated but if he has been cheating then I am glad he has been found out and he should be punished and banned and this should be the end of his career.

“But let’s wait, we can’t point the finger, we need to wait and see because of the Conor Benn situation.”

Benn failed two Vada tests in the build-up to his cancelled October Chris Eubank Jr fight but has also always insisted on his innocence.

Hearn tried to bulldoze the tainted big-money bout through and has stuck by the 26-year-old through every accusation and dismissed excuse.

A hearing with the National Anti-Doping Panel last month went in Benn’s favour and his provisional Ukad ban was lifted but a bitter taste and dark stain remain around the sport.

Whyte has already served a two-year ban dating back to 2012 and got another case dismissed in 2019 and Froch wants ruthless action against repeat offenders.

Froch agreed, saying: “From a fans’ point of view, it is ridiculous because you have people failing drug tests and ruining and tainting our beautiful and wonderful sport.

“It is not good enough and I am glad they are getting found out.

“If they are cheating they need to be found out, they need to be punished, they need to get banned.

“If you get done twice then it’s a lifetime ban and a massive fine, get out because you are a disgrace to the sport.”
