Car gadget that rids dash of annoying wires divides opinion as some warn it could be a fire risk

A NEW car gadget that rids your dash of annoying wires has divided opinions.

A bargain hunter had been showing off his new phone charger when people began to warn him it could be a fire hazard.

A TikToker made a video about his new charger

It has divided opinions

The video shows the TikToker testing the charger, that has retractable wires to avoid messy wires.

The charger plugs into the cigarette lighter socket of the car.

He wrote: “Testing wireless car charge, keeps your car tidy, no more loose car charger wires hanging in your vehicle. Keep your car clean and tidy.”

But skeptics filled the comment section – with some pointing out it could be dangerous.

One person wrote: “Is the wireless charger in the room with us?”

Another added: “Never get flat cables they overheat sometimes melt through.”

And a third said: “It’s not wireless if it has wires coming out of it.”

The chargers sell for £20.

This comes after drivers were warned over a recent viral defrosting hack for their car – which could result in an £80 fine.

Elsewhere, ‘the number one cause’ of winter breakdowns has been revealed by an expert car mechanic – but he’s told concerned drivers that this issue can be easily avoided using a free car check.

Meanwhile, motorists were urgently warned of fines as new road laws were introduced yesterday.
