Defender Jordan Beyer made his loan from Borussia Monchengladbach permanent as Kompany’s first piece of business.

And now he has strengthened his defence further by signing goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux from Leyton Orient.

Vigouroux was named in the EFL League Two team of the season and will now rival Burnley’s No1 Arijanet Muric.

He said: “It’s amazing to be here! An unbelievable training ground to be a part of and I’m really happy!

“You only have to look around where we’re working and training every day.

“This was the right step and the right way to go. Hopefully I can leave an impression here.”

Vigouroux began his youth career at Brentford and Tottenham before leaving for Liverpool in 2014.

He then had spells with Swindon and then Orient, which has earned him a move to returning Premier League side Burnley.

Kompany added: “We are looking forward to Lawrence being part of what we are building here at Burnley.

“He has come through top academy systems to become the player he is today with stand out performances in recent years.

“He is a very talented goalkeeper with a good personality and someone we will enjoy working with.”
