I’VE been racking up the miles this week and head further north for Musselburgh’s big meeting.
Things got off on a good night at Lingfield when it was great to get Quel Destin’s his first win over fences for my boss Paul Nicholls.
Bryony Frost has two strong chances at Musselburgh on SaturdayReuters
Not many horses manage to win on the Flat, over hurdles and over fences. He stuck to his guns for me and I’m chuffed he got back in the winners’ enclosure.
My next winner came from Brandisova at Fakenham for Lucy Wadham. She has been knocking on the door this season, bumping into horses who have won easy.
She was tough and battled hard for me to get her first win.
Her owner Emma Banks and Lucy with her team have been patient with her and it’s paid off.

And what a day Team Ditcheat had on Trials Day at Cheltenham last Saturday.
There were three big handicaps on the card and Paul won them all. The team are in great form at the moment and there is a great buzz about the place.
I’ll be riding two for Paul up at Musselburgh today and they both have a good chance.
The opening race we have a connection too – as it’s named in honour of Frodon!
Most read in Horse Racing
I ride Halo Des Obeaux (1.28) – who is owned by Frodon’s owner Paul Vogt – and he is in good form at home.
He ran a rock-solid second to a good horse at Newbury last time who has since run well at a higher level.
He will like the ground and he is still only lightly-raced, hope for a great run.
My second ride is Outlaw Peter (2.35) in the Scottish Stayers’ Novice Hurdle and he is a horse with loads of promise.
He won easy at Exeter two starts ago and ran better than the bare result when pulled up in the Lanzarote Hurdle, which is a fiercely competitive race.
He’s back into novice company now and steps up the three-miles, which should suit, the good ground will be a postive.
As always, stay safe and keep kicking.
