Brits’ favourite cars to buy second hand are finally revealed… could you be sitting on a secret goldmine?

BRITS’ favourite car to buy second hand has been revealed – and you could be sitting on a secret gold mine.

Car Dealer Magazine has revealed the pre-loved cars that are selling like hotcakes, and they are not what you might expect.

Lucy Tugby, marketing director at eBay Motors Group, said: “Some of the fastest-selling used cars advertised by dealers on Motors.co.uk in October were achieved by EVs.

“We believe this was a direct result of improved supply, with a welcome influx of end-of-contract PCPs and defleets following the debut of the 73-plate in September, coupled with lower wholesale values.”

Top of the list for the most sought after second-hand vehicle is the Toyota Prius+ which sells in an average of just 18.4 days.

A close second is the Tesla Model 3 which sells in an average of 19.2 days.

Next in line is the Audi e-tron model taking 20.0 days to flog.

And following in fourth is the Mercedes-Benz EQC model which on average takes 20.4 days to sell.

Fifth on the list is another Mercedes, but this time its the GL Class model.

The sixth is the Volvo XC4o model, seventh is Mitsubishi Outlander, eighth the Kia Niro, ninth the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and finally, last to make it on the list is the MG model ZS.

This list has dramatically changed in the last few years, in 2020 the Ford Fiesta topped it and The Vauxhall Corsa was another popular motor, followed by the Ford Focus.

And in summer this year we told how the Ford Fiesta once again stole the top spot for most common second-hand car, followed by the Volkswagen Golf and the Ford Focus.

The research, commissioned by car finance refund experts Undisclosed.co.uk, looked at more than 400,000 used car listings from AutoTrader in order to find the UK’s most common second-hand car models.
