BRITAIN’S Got Talent is getting a complete make-over for 2023.
ITV has announced a huge format shake-up kicking off when the show returns next year.
BGT is facing a major change to its format
David Walliams quit last month – and now the fans are in charge
It will be the public that can now secretly nominate an act and put them forward for the opportunity to audition in front of the Britain’s Got Talent judges.
Last year, Britain’s Got Talent introduced ‘Golden Moments’ to the series, which saw each of the judges visit an unsuspecting act and invite them down to audition for the show.
The judges surprised Voices of Armed Forces Children’s Choir during a rehearsal, singing doctor Bambang Atmaja during a Heart Breakfast interview, eco-warrior and poet Aneeshwar Kunchala at school and Skylar Blu during a dance class.
There was also a very special moment on stage, where the mother and two daughters of aspiring singer, Nick Edwards, surprised him whilst he was sat in the audience, resulting in a mesmerising performance, moving many to tears.
It’s the first of many shake-ups after judge David Walliams announced he was quitting.
It comes after David, 51, was forced to apologise for foul-mouthed comments about contestants.
A source said: “He hasn’t taken the decision lightly, but it just feels like time to move on.”
Moves are underway to replace David Walliams after a decade on the judging panel.
Britain’s Got Talent will return with a 16th series next year and auditions to search for the nation’s next big talent will kick off in January.
Some of the nation’s very best acts will compete to win a life-changing £250,000 and a spot on the bill of the Royal Variety Performance.
The public can submit their secret nomination via the website on itv.com/bgt.
