Brighton ‘braced for Roberto De Zerbi’s exit with Man Utd and Liverpool both admirers of Italian manager’

BRIGHTON are reportedly braced for Roberto De Zerbi to leave the club at the end of the season.

The Italian has become one of the most admired managers in Europe following his success on the South Coast.

De Zerbi, 44, led the Seagulls into the Europa League after replacing Graham Potter last season.

This campaign has seen him replicate the results in the Premier League as the team continue to challenge in the top half.

The Seagulls are also enjoying themselves in Europe as they finished top of their group ahead of the likes of Ajax and Marseille.

De Zerbi’s style of football has also been praised with his side being one of the most exciting to watch in England.

The Daily Mail have reported that this impact has seen him gain interest from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.

The Reds are ramping up their hunt for a new manager following Jurgen Klopp‘s announcement that he would be leaving in the summer.

Ineos are also said to be keen on De Zerbi as they have taken control of Manchester United‘s football operations.

De Zerbi has admitted to some frustration at Brighton‘s recent lack of transfer business.

However, he has claimed that he is open to signing a new deal on the South Coast.

In December he said: “We are speaking about the new contract but at the moment we are only speaking.

“At the end we have to analyse the target.

“If the targets are the same as the club’s, it’s an honour for me working in Brighton.

“I don’t try to reach the higher level. It’s important for me to fix an important target”
