Brentford 3 Southampton 0: Brilliant Bees continue push for Europe and leave Nathan Jones’ strugglers rock bottom

BRENTFORD moved up to sixth place in the Premier League table with a 3-0 win over Southampton.

The Bees broke the deadlock with two quickfire goals just before half-time when Ben Mee headed in a cross from Bryan Mbeumo.

Mbuemo then turned goalscorer as Yoanne Wissa put the ball on a plate for the Cameroonian to finish.

A desperate Nathan Jones subbed on Paul Onuachu and Kamaldeen Sulemana at the break, handing the duo their Saints debuts.

However, it proved not to be enough as Mattias Jensen made it three late in the day turning in a Rico Henry cross.

The win leaves Brentford just six points off the top four and Southampton remain in huge danger of being relegated as they sit bottom of the league with just 15 points.
