Johnson came up through the ranks at Forest, spending 14 years there before earning a £47.5million Spurs move during the summer.
Tonight marked his first appearance against his old side after becoming a regular in Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI.
But Johnson’s evening ended in disaster as he barely lasted 30 minutes at his former stomping ground.
As Tottenham defended their box from a bouncing ball and several Forest players, Johnson ended up being clattered in a brutal collision.
The versatile attacker collapsed to the floor as stars from both sides called for a medic.
And as Johnson was being treated, blood could be seen pouring from his head.
Unfortunately for the star, he was unable to continue.
Johnson walked off the pitch in a concussion swap with Oliver Skipp.

But Forest fans showed their class as they sang “one of our own” as Johnson made his way to the sideline.
And other supporters made their support clear on social media.
One said: “Hope he’s OK.”
Another declared: “Gutted for him, not what you want on your return to your old club.”
One noted: “Is Johnson OK? Hopefully he is.”
Another added: “That’s the spirit of sportsmanship. I appreciate the fan for the kind gesture shown to the injured player.”
Johnson has so far made eight appearances for Spurs, scoring one goal.
His time at Forest saw him net 29 strikes in 109 outings.
Johnson joined the club as a kid back in 2009.
And a decade later he made his senior debut before helping Forest win promotion from the Championship to the top flight in 2022.
