BRENDAN RODGERS is the bookmakers’ favourite to make a return to Celtic and take over from Ange Postecoglou.
As the current boss thrashed out a deal in north London – an interview clip where Rodgers admitted he would return to Parkhead with “absolutely no hesitation” recirculated.

But he did install a caveat – and he’d only be back if the timing was right.
Sunsport understands that is NOT the case for the ex-manager at this stage.
Rodgers was sacked from Leicester City in April as the Foxes battled against relegation from the English Premier League – a fight that ultimately failed on the last day of the season.
He had joined straight from Celtic in February 2019 after almost three trophy-laden seasons in Scotland.
Rodgers landed seven major honours at Celtic Park, including two trebles, but the manner of his departure upset a large section of the Hoops’ support.
And many are split on the notion of a potential return given those circumstances.
The possibility though, appears highly doubtful.
Sunsport has learned Rodgers is expected to take time away from the game before planning his next career move.
His exit from Leicester ended five and a half years in the hotseats at both Celtic Park and the KingPower, and followed a sapping stint in charge of Liverpool.
He took nine months out before succeeding Ronny Deila in Glasgow, and his preference is now for a similar sabbatical.
Despite his acrimonious exit, he still maintains a feeling for the club and was recently seen back at Hampden for the Hoops’ Scottish Cup semi-final win over Rangers.
Asked about a hypothetical return in an interview re-circulated this week from the aftermath of his departure, Rogers was warm to the possibility – but conceded the feeling might not be mutual.
He admitted: “That challenge may come again, because it was a real challenge to go in.
“That challenge may come again in the future and I’d have absolutely no hesitation going back – it’s an incredible club.
“Like everything in life it’s just about timing.
“Whether I’d be received back is a different story but would I go back to Celtic? Absolutely.”
