Braith Anasta shares sweet tribute to daughter he shares with Jodi Gordon: ‘Heart of gold’

Braith Anasta and Jodi Gordon split in 2015 following three years of marriage.

And the pair recently reunited for a special reason – to celebrate the baptism of their daughter Aleeia, nine.

Former NRL star Anasta, 42, shared a sweet tribute post to their daughter to mark the occasion and shared snaps of the pair together from the big day.

The former couple divorced in 2015 after three years of marriage.

He previously once said on the Kyle and Jackie O Show that the engagement ring he purchased for his ex-wife was a “bad investment”.

“She probably hocked it,” he said at the time. “She’s probably bought a few bags with it, handbags.”

But it seems the pair have since moved on from the incident and put their differences aside for the sake of co-parenting.

After their split, Anasta went on to date personal trainer Rachael Lee, but the pair have since gone their separate ways.

Just three weeks ago, Gordon marked her 39th birthday with an Instagram post where she admitted she has been struggling with substance abuse for a majority of her life.

“I have battled substance abuse for the most part of my life, stepping into recovery at 24 but never being able to stay stopped,” Gordon, 39, wrote on the platform over a video of herself posing for the camera.

“On April 7th 2022 I got sober and have stayed sober ever since, completely changing my life in ways I didn’t think were possible,” she continued.

Gordon said she completed a 30-day recovery program for alcohol addiction at a clinic in Sydney in 2022.

In 2009, the Neighbours alum faced public controversy after she called 000 regarding armed intruders at former bikie associate Mark Judge’s home, which sparked an emergency operation.

After reviewing CCTV footage, police found there had not been any intruders in the home. Gordon later allegedly admitted she had used cocaine earlier that night.

Shortly after the incident, Gordon and her fiancé Ryan Stokes broke up.

She is now pursuing a new career in mental health, with the aim to reduce stigma and discrimination, and is studying a Bachelor of Counselling and Communication Skills.

“I love this tough journey in a new field, working incredibly hard, working my way up fiercely, curiously, wonder and purpose every single day,” she wrote.

“The future looks so bright walking this path to become a counsellor and staying sober to share my journey. Here’s to that good fight in reducing discrimination and stigma that we all know is there.”

Gordon, who says she has found solace in writing and poetry, also reflected on her relationships in the post, revealing how her late father – who died last year – taught her “acceptance, forgiveness and unconditional love”.
