ANTHONY JOSHUA came within a whisker of showing trainer Ben Davison just how powerful his punches really are.
AJ has four wins on the bounce, two of them coming under new coach Davison after the two formed a formidable partnership.
And the two are back in the gym as Joshua plots his next move amid rumours of a future Tyson Fury fight.
Davison posted footage training with AJ on the pads in his gym and captured the moment his life flashed before his eyes.
Joshua, 34, was practising a shot and almost followed through to smack Davison right on the chin.
Fortunately the cornerman – a former amateur boxer himself – managed to just about get out the way – to the relief of fans.
One said: “This could’ve ended badly.”
Another added: “Damn nice head movement coach.”
One joked: “Don’t worry y’all, Ben has life insurance.”
Joshua’s last victory was a second-round knockout over Francis Ngannou, 37, the MMA star who dropped Fury in October.
The Gypsy King, 35, still walked away with a controversial split-decision, keeping his title unification with Oleksandr Usyk, 37, on May 18 intact.
They are set for a double header with AJ waiting in the wings to potentially face Fury is he prevails.
And Fury was probed on Joshua’s improvements under his ex-trainer Davison.
But he simply put: “I don’t know, it’s not like [Joshua] is my boyfriend, is it? Like I’m studying him every night, like: ‘Oh, my god. I like your muscles, man.’
“I’ve got my own wife and kids to look after, not focus on other men’s careers.”
