The Cherries have had a shocking start to the season and currently sit in 19th place in the table.

Iraola is yet to win a Premier League match and the pressure is mounting for him to turn it all around.

Things got worse for the Spanish gaffer on Saturday when his team lost 2-1 to a Wolves side managed by the man he replaced, Gary O’Neil.

O’Neil was shown the exit door at the Vitality Stadium this summer despite his heroics in keeping Bournemouth afloat in England’s top flight last season.

And the club’s CEO Neil Blake and Technical Director Richard Hughes were key in convincing Foley that O’Neil should be replaced by Iraola.

The pair will be hoping that their chosen one can pull a result out of the bag this weekend as they host fellow relegation zone dwindlers Burnley on the south coast.

If Iraola’s side can pick up all three points then it’s likely the 41-year-old will be given more time to implement his plans.

But things have to change quickly for the former Rayo Vallecano boss who arrived in the Premier League with so much promise.

However a win over Burnley may only paper over the cracks as Bournemouth face a daunting run of matches after their early season relegation scrap.

Last season’s 15th place finishers face Liverpool, Man City and Newcastle in their next three games following their clash with the Clarets.
