Bindi, Rob and Terri take to social media to mark what would have been Steve Irwin’s 62nd birthday

Terri Irwin led family tributes on social media to mark what would have been her late husband Steve Irwin‘s 62nd birthday on Thursday.

The widow shared a sweet compilation video of her “action man” over the years, which featured his voice autotuned into a song of sorts.

“Happy Birthday! Missing my Action Man,” Terri captioned the clip, adding a love heart emoji and crediting “Melodysheep” for the clip.

Daughter Bindi Irwin added a range of throwback photos in a carousel on her Instagram page, along with a message to her father.

“Happy Birthday, Dad. Your legacy will live on forever,” the 25-year-old wrote.

Terri was among the first to comment on the post, saying: “Steve’s love for you will live on forever too.”

Steve, a famed TV presenter, died in September 2006 at the age of 44, while filming a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef, when Bindi was just eight years old and son Robert Irwin was aged two.

Rob, who is now 20, also shared a tribute to the Crocodile Hunter, with a video of the father and son pair on a motorbike.

“It’s a meaningful day to share this special story… on Dad’s birthday,” he began in the caption.

“It makes me so proud that his legacy lives on.”

A voiceover on the top of the footage explained the significance of the rides on the dirt bike, which then sat unused for many years after Steve’s death.

“When dad got his Honda 100 it was his main mode of transportation around Australia Zoo and for me and my sister,” Rob’s voice told followers.

“Every morning we’d get on, hold onto the handlebars and dad would take us around on the morning park checks and we’d get ice cream.

“I got it back up and running recently and now it’s my job to get the motorbike started of a morning and do the same park checks around Australia Zoo.

“I tell you what, every time I start that thing, it brings back so many memories and I absolutely love it.”

The poignant family day on February 22 comes just days after Rob and his girlfriend Rorie Buckley announced their split, with the 20-year-old thanking his family for their support through the tough time.
