Bethenny Frankel, More React to T.J. Holmes, Amy Robach’s ‘GMA3’ Drama

Following the scandal. Bethenny Frankel and more celebrities have been keeping up with the drama as T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach‘s Good Morning America relationship continues to raise eyebrows.

The coanchors were caught getting cozy on multiple occasions in November despite being married to other people. Holmes, 45, exchanged vows with lawyer Marilee Fiebig in 2010, the same year that Robach, 49, tied the knot with Andrew Shue.

In photos published by the Daily Mail on November 30, the journalists — who have hosted GMA3 together since 2020 — were spotted grabbing drinks in New York City. A second snap showed the duo holding hands in a car, while a third depicted Holmes resting his hand on his coworker’s backside.

Neither of the ABC personalities have publicly addressed the alleged affair. They initially returned to the third hour of the morning show on December 1, with Holmes teasing during the broadcast: “Who’s looking forward to the weekend?” In response, Robach raised her hand.

The Arkansas native and the former NBC News correspondent were “pretending like everything is normal” as their relationship made headlines, a source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month. “They have been carrying on like they would any other day.”

According to the insider, Holmes and Robach’s close bond wasn’t a well-kept secret. “The GMA staff for the most part all knew that something was happening between Amy and T.J., they were always playful with each other, like two people who were dating,” the source told Us, adding that “everyone around the office could tell there was a spark between them for many months.”

While the cohosts seemingly tried to brush off the controversy, Us confirmed that ABC president Kim Godwin announced during an editorial meeting that Holmes and Robach would be taken off the air for the foreseeable future. Per TMZ, the exec called the off-camera drama an “internal and external distraction.”

Variety later reported that ABC News “wanted to do what’s best for the organization,” although the twosome did not violate company policy. Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez filled in at the anchor desk during the Monday, December 5, episode.

As the scandal continues to make waves, fans and celebrities alike have been sharing their hot takes online. Frankel, 52, applauded the network for putting its foot down.

“I think that the way ABC handled taking these two anchors off the air is very above board, very forthright,” she said in a TikTok uploaded hours after news broke that Holmes and Robach were sidelined. “I like the straightforward nature of it. It’s not against company policy, but it was a distraction and it’s off-brand.”
