Taylor Swift has famously written (incredible) songs about her previous relationships.
So, in the wake of Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ divorce, it seems only fitting we revisit one speculated to be about Mr. Jonas himself.
Jonas has found himself in the media the past few weeks after filing for divorce from the Game of Thrones actress after four years of marriage.

Social media then went wild when Turner was spotted in New York City out to dinner with Swift, who famously dated Jonas back in 2008.
It’s also been reported Swift has loaned Turner and her children her NYC home while the star remains in the US to finalise her divorce.
Fans have been dying to know the details of exactly what Swift and Turner spoke about at their dinner, because from what we can tell, Joe Jonas doesn’t exactly handle a relationship breakdown gracefully.
Swift dated Jonas from July to October 2008, and a number of her hit songs are rumoured to be about their split.
And, spoiler alert, none of them make him seem like a particularly great guy.

Mr. Perfectly Fine is a vault track released on Swift’s re-record of the 2008 album Fearless, meaning it was written for the original release of the album but didn’t make the cut until the re-release in 2021.
The song goes into detail about a relationship breakdown, where Swift’s partner appeared ‘perfectly fine’ following a split that left her feeling heartbroken.
She also made sure we knew the song was based on real life events, posting to X (Twitter at the time) shortly after its release, “Me in 2020: life is chill, writing songs based in fiction to avoid drama, feeling pretty grown up. My 2008 music from the vault, in a goblin voice: ‘REELEEEEEEASE MR PERFECTLY FIIIIIIINE.”

Fans instantly theorised the song was about Jonas after likening the lyrics to several other songs speculated to be about him, including Forever and Always released on the original recording of Fearless.
Although all the lyrics are pretty damning evidence as to the way Jonas holds himself through a breakup, it’s the bridge that particularly drags him through the mud.
And if there’s one thing Swift is known for, it’s her incredible bridge construction.
“So dignified in your well-pressed suit / So strategised, all the eyes on you / Sashay away to your seat / It’s the best seat, in the best room / ‘Oh, he’s so smug, Mr. ‘Always Wins’ / So far above me in every sense / So far above feeling anything.”
Truly one of the greatest architects of our time.
Shortly after their split in 2008, an 18-year-old Swift appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show where she revealed some interesting details about Jonas.
Watch the video above.
After telling Degeneres the pair hadn’t spoken since their break-up, Swift said, “You know what, someday I’m going to find someone really really great who’s right for me.”
“It’s alright, I’m cool. You know what, it’s like when I find that person that is right for me and he’ll be wonderful, and when I look at that person, I’m not even going to be able to remember the boy that broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18.”
After an uproar from the crowd, Swift then explained to Ellen that it ‘must be some kind of record’ and she had checked her call log afterward to see the call was exactly 27 seconds long.
This, along with the smear campaign Jonas’ PR has seemingly attempted to push against Turner… well, it just makes you wonder how brave the man really is.
Plenty of other songs by Swift have also been rumoured to be about the Jonas brother, including You All Over Me, Holy Ground, and Last Kiss – which, tellingly has a 27-second-long intro.

When Mr. Perfectly Fine was finally released, Turner was still with Jonas and was a self-declared Swifitie, posting the song to her Instagram story with the caption, “It’s not NOT a bop.”
Just a few weeks before the couple split, Turner again trolled Jonas for his mistreatment of Swift all those years ago.
Following her attendance at a Jonas Brothers concert, Turner shared an Instagram post including an image of the friendship bracelets she had received at the Jonas Brothers concert, one of which read ‘Mr. Perfectly Fine’.
It seems the girlies have won this one, sorry Joe.
