BAYERN MUNICH are hopeful of completing a deal to sign Newcastle star Kieran Trippier, according to reports.
The German champions have looked to sign English talent in recent months, bringing in Harry Kane and Eric Dier from Tottenham.

Trippier could follow his former Spurs team-mates to the Allianz Arena this month.
Bayern Munich are eager to conduct a transfer quickly and a final decision on whether or not to make an offer will be made today, report Bild.
Boss Thomas Tuchel is understood to be a huge admirer of Trippier, who has been described as the German’s “dream player”.
Trippier, 33, and Newcastle could both be open to the move, with the right-back in the final 18 months of his contract.
However Toon would be keen to agree a permanent switch rather than a loan, with Trippier valued between £8.5-£13million.
Like Dier, that would represent a relatively cheap deal for the Bundesliga giants – but club icon Lothar Matthaus has slammed the pursuit of Trippier.
He said: “Bayern need more depth and reinforcements, but are these players reinforcements? Eric Dier wasn’t necessarily a key player at Tottenham recently.
“I remember Uli Hoeness (Bayern’s honorary president) once saying that, ‘We won’t be bringing in any more players who are sitting on the bench at other clubs’. The latest transfer looks different.

“Kieran Trippier would be a similar case. That’s not Bayern Munich for me.
“Bayern should focus on reinforcements or on the young players. Aleksander Pavlovic sat out against Bremen and wasn’t substituted. When he did play, he was always outstanding.
“Bayern Munich have very good youth players and Christoph Freund (Bayern’s sporting director) is responsible for that. He has a good network.
“In the summer it was said, ‘We can let (Benjamin) Pavard and (Josip) Stanisic go and get someone else instead’, and then they didn’t get anyone else.
“As a result, they’ve got problems at right-back and in the centre. They thought, ‘We’ll manage that’. No, they reacted too late. The team can’t find itself.”
