Bayern Munich ‘to up transfer bid’ for Harry Kane after England and Tottenham star ‘agrees personal terms’

BAYERN MUNICH are preparing an improved offer of nearly £70million for Harry Kane after agreeing personal terms with the striker, according to reports.

The Tottenham talisman, 29, has entered the final 12 months of his contract with his boyhood club.

And he is being heavily linked with a move away from Spurs, with Bayern stating their interest in the England captain.

It was reported earlier this week that the German champions went behind the back of Tottenham chief Daniel Levy to agree terms with Kane.

Now The Mail understand they are set to up their bid from £56m to around £68m.

However, this is still expected to be rejected by the Lilywhites.

And it will leave Kane in a difficult position as Tottenham are set to jet off on their pre-season tour of Australia, Thailand and Singapore on Friday.

Bayern are seeking a centre-forward this summer after missing a focal point up front last season following the departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.

But they will not be pressed into paying over the odds for Kane, especially given he could be available on a free next summer.

Tottenham, who see Kane as a £100m player, maintain they do not want to sell their all-time record scorer.

He has netted a sensational 280 goals in 435 appearances, but is still waiting on a first major trophy of his career.

Meanwhile, Bayern could turn to Napoli frontman Victor Osimhen if they cannot reach a deal for Kane.

Former Bayern technical director Michael Reschke recently told Confidential that Kane should be the club’s priority signing this summer.

He said: “Kane is one of the top three number nines in the world with Haaland and Mbappe.

“If he joins Bayern he gives them a much greater chance of winning the Champions League.

“That is the reason Bayern are fighting for him. Bayern can’t compete in bidding wars for the top players but they are still alluring to some if they show conviction.”
