Australia 30-28 England rugby LIVE RESULT: Wallabies put Red Rose to sword despite late English rally – updates

ENGLAND were on the end of a chastening defeat in Australia after the home side had a man sent off.

The Wallabies scored three tries to put the game out of reach, then the Red Rose scored two tries after the 80 minutes had all-but elapsed.

Darcy Swain was red-carded for HEADBUTTING Jonny Hill after the pair were involved in an ugly scuffle.

The pair were involved in a handbags scuffle before the Wallabies second row smacked his head against his opponent.

The Red Rose had made a strong start against Australia with two penalties from Owen Farrell, but he missed two crucial kicks – one a conversion and the other a penalty – had he made them England would have won.

The Optus Stadium in Perth is the venue for this opener with the Red Rose looking to keep up their superb record against the Wallabies.
