LONDON motorists were left furious after an “attention-seeking” van driver decided to stay put when the lights turned green – only to speed off last minute and leave everyone behind.
In the controversial video posted online by a scaffolder on Tuesday, he can be heard saying: ‘Watch how c***y I’m going to be’.

Stopped at a junction in Hackney, east London, the 35-year-old records the huge queue of cars behind him at the traffic lights.
He then says: “Watch me teach them a lesson” before the lights turn green.
Annoyed motorists frantically beep as they realise he isn’t moving, but the driver giggles and then pulls away as the lights are about to change from amber to red.
He laughs and says “have that, you c***s” as he films the heavy traffic moving a few feet forward to stop at the lights again.
The driver’s video has been viewed more than 2.5 million times with many users slamming him as “sad” and “desperate for attention”.
The driver, who says he is from Sevenoaks, Kent, said: “I just think the world are c***s.
“I’m actually on the way to drive back there now and do it again because I’ve made such a thing of it, and because I want to p*** off the arsehole drivers behind me even more.”
The video has more than 185 comments with the majority of them slamming the driver’s stunt.
One commented: “Actually sad.”
Another added: “Desperate for attention, McDonald’s breakfast, and you can’t afford to fill up your tank with petrol. Peak times.”
While a third warned: “Mate, they will catch you up at the next set of lights. Better make sure your doors are locked.”
A fourth said: “You wouldn’t do this with a car full of lads behind though, would you, big man?”
The driver replied: “I would and I would go out on my shield. Don’t you know I’m a scaffolder so I’m instantly off my nut.”
One tagged the police and said: “I’m sure @metpoliceuk would be interested in you using your mobile whilst driving!”
The driver hit back at the claim, saying: “It’s a 360-degree GoPro attached to my seat belt. It’s 2023.”

Laws around stopping at junctions are clear, and just creeping over the first line can leave drivers slapped with a £100 fine.
Drivers should also pay close attention to cycle boxes, as creeping into one of them can lead to fines of as much as £1,000.
Rule 178 of the Highway Code states: “Some signal-controlled junctions have advanced stop lines to allow cycles to be positioned ahead of other traffic.
“Motorists, including motorcyclists, MUST stop at the first white line reached if the lights are amber or red and should avoid blocking the way or encroaching on the marked area at other times, e.g. if the junction ahead is blocked.
“If your vehicle has proceeded over the first white line at the time that the signal goes red, you MUST stop at the second white line, even if your vehicle is in the marked area.
“Allow cyclists time and space to move off when the green signal shows.”
