BAYERN MUNICH are monitoring Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez, according to reports.

The German champions are targeting a keeper after wrapping up the signing of Harry Kane.

Manuel Neuer is still recovering from the broken leg he sustained last season and Bayern have considered several shot-stoppers since letting Yann Sommer leave for Inter Milan.

Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizalbalaga was believed to be on their shortlist before his loan switch to Real Madrid.

Now Bayern are monitoring Martinez’s situation, according to TyC Sports.

However it could be difficult to prise the World Cup winner away from Villa Park as he is considered to be a vital member of the squad.

Martinez, 30, is under contract until 2027 and it would reportedly take a world record fee for a goalkeeper in order to sign the Argentine.

That could force Bayern to look elsewhere with two other Premier League goalkeepers understood to be on their radar – David de Gea and Stefan Ortega.

De Gea has been a free agent since his release from Manchester United and Bayern are said to have held talks with the Spaniard.

But the Bundesliga giants are unwilling to meet De Gea’s wage demands.

Bayern have targeted Ortega as an alternative to De Gea and have also spoken to the Manchester City star.

Ortega has two years left on his City deal but has mostly been used as a backup to Ederson so could be keen on a switch to the Allianz Arena.
