It is claimed he was left injured by pooch Tiago on December 2, 2020.

Nelson has now arrived at Hendon Magistrates’ Court where his trial is set to get underway today.

The forward denies being in charge of a dog which caused injury while dangerously out of control.

It is not clear what breed of dog Tiago is with the star previously sharing a picture of a French bulldog-style animal on his Instagram.

Nelson played in yesterday’s Arsenal v Man Utd 3-1 winner at the Emirates after coming on for Gabriel Martinelli.

He signed a four-year contract with the Gunners in July after rejecting a chance to leave the club as a free agent.

The winger, who joined Arsenal aged nine, is yet to start a game for the team but impressed last season while on the pitch.

He scored twice in Arsenal’s 5-0 win against Nottingham Forest and grabbed a last-gasp winner last month to help the Gunners’ beat Bournemouth 3-2.

Nelson has made 35 Premier League appearances for the club in total and has scored four times and made two assists.
