Arsenal ‘open contract talks with Ben White’ despite three years left on £120,000-a-week deal

BEN WHITE is in talks with Arsenal over a new contract despite having three years left on his current deal.

The defender is already earning £120,000-a-week but the Gunners want to tie him down to a longer deal.

And the Gunners are certain they can reach a swift agreement with the 25-year-old.

White will follow team-mates Bukayo Saka, William Saba, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale and Martin Odegaard in penning a new deal.

Last month it was reported the club were in line to start discussions over his future at the club – and now those talks are underway.

Starting the season as a centre-back, White has recently been playing as a full-back for Mikel Arteta‘s team.

He is viewed as a key component in the Spaniard’s squad and the Englishman’s consistency and versatility are now set to be rewarded.

Having joined from Brighton in 2021 for £50million, White is fully settled in North London and is said to be happy commit himself to the club.

He has made a total of 93 appearances and scored three goals.

White had another tremendous performance at the weekend at Bournemouth where he scored the fourth goal for the Gunners in the 93rd minute.

He is in line to start when Arsenal take on Lens in the Champions League in France tonight.

This is in preparation for Sunday afternoon’s mouthwatering clash against Manchester City.
