Arsenal fans saw the footage and called for him to come out of retirement

Wilshere, now 31, has proved that he still has some of his brilliant skill as he took the field for a kickabout.

In a viral video, the midfielder could be seen drifting past his opponents with ease and quality close control of the ball.

Wilshere’s passing ability and awareness were made clear in the clip as he was able to pick out his team-mates with ease.

The video ended with the former England international hammering a shot past the goalkeeper to score.

The footage of his performance was uploaded to Twitter, leaving many Arsenal supporters calling for Wilshere to make his comeback.

One fan Tweeted: “Jack Wilshere seriously needs to get back on that pitch. He’s too good, what a baller.”

A second commented: “Would still walk into Arsenal’s midfield.”

A third wrote: “Jack’s still got it. He should come out of retirement and get himself some game time.”

A fourth said: “I’d rather him play in that 8 role than Havertz at this rate.”

Another added: “Sign him back now.”

Wilshere was once one of the most promising players in England as he made his debut for Arsenal at just 16 years old.

He earned many plaudits for his performance against Barcelona at the Nou Camp in the Champions League in 2011.

However, injuries plagued his career, and he was released by the North London club in 2018.

Wilshere went on to have spells with West Ham, Bournemouth and Danish outfit Aarhus Gymnastikforening.

The midfielder was unfortunate to continue suffering from injuries, which led to his retirement last year.

Wilshere has since returned to the Gunners as the coach of the Under 18s side.
