Arsenal braced for January transfer raid for £21million Jakub Kiwior – less than a year after signing Polish defender

JAKUB KIWIOR could be set to make his Arsenal exit less than a year after joining the club, reports suggest.

The central defender was brought by the Gunners in a £21million transfer last January.

Since arriving from Italian side Spezia, Kiwior has played as a back-up behind the likes of William Saliba and Gabriel.

Since joining he has made just 14 appearances, ten of which have come in the Premier League.

Some of these have even come at left-back as he filled in for injured stars earlier this season.

And it is this lack of minutes which has put him on the radar of Italian giants AC Milan.

The Rossoneri are in the middle of an injury crisis at centre-back, with Marco Pellegrino and Pierre Kalulu the latest to be sidelined.

Simon Kjaer and Mattia Caldara are both out too, leaving Milan fatally short of centre-back options.

This has led boss Stefano Pioli to consider a January recruit.

Kiwior, 21, is familiar with the Italian league, and Gazzetta dello Sport reports the Polish international is on Milan’s list of targets.

The report suggests Milan would want the deal to be a loan transfer, possibly with an option to buy, rather than a full purchase.

Despite the interest and desirable outcome for Kiwior to earn minutes to develop away from North London, the Gunners will need to consider their own depth issues with their ongoing European season.
