Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to resolve bitter Château dispute outside of court after lengthy battle

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reportedly agreed to settle their bitter legal dispute over their shared French winery outside of court.

According to court filings obtained by TMZ, Jolie, 48, and Pitt, 59, have agreed to mediation in order to settle their dispute over the former couple’s French vineyard Château Miraval.

This comes just weeks after Jolie’s former investment company Nouvel accused Pitt and “co-conspirators” of attempting to retain control of Château Miraval by “stripping” and “looting” its assets.

“Pitt wasted the company’s assets, spending millions on vanity projects, including more than $1 million on swimming pool renovations, building and rebuilding a staircase four times, and spending millions to restore a recording studio,” the documents alleged.

The actor first sued his former wife after alleging she sold her half of the winery to a Russian oligarch in 2021.

“Incensed that Jolie sold Nouvel to Stoli rather than him, Pitt has acted like a petulant child, refusing to treat Nouvel as an equal partner in the business,” a court filing stated.

There are also allegations Pitt tried to leverage the business to silence Jolie about the circumstances surrounding their divorce – namely the allegations of abuse and the couple’s custody negotiations.

Jolie previously alleged Pitt was physically abusive towards her and two of their six children during a flight in 2016. The couple split that same year.

The filing, obtained by the New York Times and reported in 2022, alleged an extended verbal and physical outburst from Pitt sometime during September 2016 while the couple and their six children flew from France to California.

Jolie’s team alleged ”Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face” and “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her”, according to legal papers seen by the outlet.

“Brad has owned everything he’s responsible for from day one – unlike the other side – but he’s not going to own anything he didn’t do. He has been on the receiving end of every type of personal attack and misrepresentation,” Pitt’s lawyer said in response.

The former couple purchased the country estate and winery in the south of France, which has consistently been at the centre of the couple’s high-profile divorce, in 2008.
