Amir Khan and Kell Brook reunite after bitter grudge match and put rivalry aside for one last awkward face off

AMIR KHAN and Kell Brook reunited after their bitter grudge match – and enjoyed one last awkward face off.

The two rivalled for almost two decades, starting from their amateur careers and ending as iconic British former world champions.

But it was Brook who secured bragging rights for life with a sixth-round stoppage at the AO Arena in Manchester.

Both have retired since and seemed in good spirits as they sat ringside to watch Chris Eubank Jr’s win over Liam Smith.

Khan, 36, said: “Me and Kell had a great fight here.

“He’s here now and it’s good to see that now the fight is over, we’ve met each other and it’s good that we can reminisce about the great evening that we had here.”

Brook, 37, said: “It’s a beautiful venue we made the fans happen. We brought a spectacle fight.”

The foes-turned-friends then faced off for a final time and awkwardly sized each other up.

Brook joked: “We’re retired fighters, what you trying to do?”

Khan appears happy in retirement but has kept the door open to returning for an exhibition of some sort.

Meanwhile, Brook is seriously considering a comeback and called to fight the winner between Eubank, 33, and Smith, 35.

And it was Eubank who gained revenge for his KO loss in January by stopping Smith in ten rounds of their rematch.

The middleweight son of a legend called out Brook as well as Conor Benn, 26, after his career-defining victory.

Eubank warned: “There’s some big names out there. I see a few of these guys in the crowd, I’m coming for you!

“I’m coming for you Conor, I’m coming for you. I’m coming for you Kell, I’m coming for you.

“Anybody else who wants it, we’re going to put on a show for the fans, that’s for sure.”
