Amber Heard has shared first Instagram post since her involvement in the high-profile defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp.
The 37-year-old actress shared a photo from the Taormina Film Festival in Italy, which she attended last weekend to promote her new film In The Fire.
“Thank you for such an incredibly warm reception at the Taormina Film festival for my latest movie In the Fire,” she wrote. “It was an unforgettable weekend.”

In The Fire is billed as a paranormal psychological thriller, and is her first return to acting since the defamation trial. “I feel lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing cast. They’re as dedicated and magical as the characters they play,” Heard told Variety of the film.
She described the movie as “a meditation on the almost supernatural powers of love told through a strong-willed and independent woman at the turn of the 20th century.”
The film’s director, Conor Allyn, spoke to People about Heard’s involvement in the film, after such a turbulent time in her personal life.

“Amber has an incredibly bright future ahead,” Allyn gushed about her comeback performance.
“I think In the Fire showcases her talents as an actor. I know this is something she is very proud of and it’s something we are very excited to release to the public,” he added.
Production on the film finished in March 2022, before the defamation trial even began.
During and in the aftermath of the televised trial, the actress received major backlash on social media following her loss to Depp in the case.

“I think it will be a great opportunity for her to have something beyond the trial and stuff to talk about and to be a platform for a hell of a comeback,” the director told People.
Johnny Depp also made a public appearance over the weekend, performing a concert in Paris with his band Hollywood Vampires.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor surprised concertgoers with a cover performance of David Bowie’s iconic song, Heroes.

Depp’s appearance comes after the news earlier this month that the actor will be donating the $1 million (approx. $1.4 million) settlement money from his defamation trial that he won against Heard amongst five charities.
