All WhatsApp users warned of three major changes to Groups – and they could cause problems with family and friends

WHATSAPP has been playing around with Groups lately adding some new features that are sure to divide opinion.

While all new WhatsApp tools are designed to be useful, there can be some unintended consequences.

Here are three that have either recently launched or are in the pipeline to look out for.

Recent history sharing

One new option under development is a recent history sharing button.

It’s meant to fill new Group members in on what was said 24 hours before they joined so they have a bit more context.

But what if you say something you shouldn’t have?

It could cause arguments with friends or family if you’re not too careful.

Fortunately, all Group members are notified within the group when an admin switches it on, according to a leaked screenshot obtained by WABetaInfo.

Call scheduling

Call scheduling sounds like a great idea for ensuring everyone in a Group is available for a catch up.

But it could be a nightmare for those who hate long-winded audio conversations on the phone.

And with a scheduled time set in the Group chat, any usual excuses to avoid the verbal chat may not go down quite so well.

It’s not been introduced just yet so you’re fine for now.

Create WhatsApp Groups easily

A small but relevant little trick has recently launched on WhatsApp.

You no longer need to give a Group a name.

This is ideal if you need to create a Group in a rush or don’t have a specific group topic in mind.

Instead, unnamed groups of up to six people will now be cleverly named based on who is in a group.
