NEARLY a third of travellers would be willing to ditch their friends in favour of a holiday with their mum.
A study of 2,000 travellers found 22 per cent feel they and their mother don’t spend enough quality time together.

As a result, 69 per cent would holiday with them, in a bid to have more time together (71 per cent) and show their appreciation for everything she’s done (48 per cent).
While 59 per cent would have a joint vacation to create lasting memories, and 48 per cent want to make mum-ventures a new tradition.
It also emerged 66 per cent cite time spent with their mum during family holidays as some of their fondest childhood memories.
The research was commissioned by London Luton Airport, which is offering limited fast-track security and complimentary lounge passes for those jetting away with a mother figure this weekend.
Clare Armstrong, head of guest experience at the airport, said: “It’s heart-warming to see 55 per cent of holidaymakers want to go on adventures with their mum, whether it’s a getaway abroad or a cherished moment closer to home.

The research also found 38 per cent of those polled want to make more effort with their mum, from showing gratitude for her support (52 per cent) to trying to call her more often (25 per cent).
While 61 per cent would go on a holiday with their mother to strengthen their bond, and 43 per cent would use a trip together to reignite their relationship.
With 57 per cent wishing they could surprise their mum with a getaway this mothering Sunday.
But 19 per cent of those polled, via OnePoll.com, claimed they put more effort into celebrating the occasion over other moments, such as Christmas, birthdays or anniversaries.
When it comes to mum-ventures, 66 per cent of travellers crave the excitement of city breaks, while 59 per cent the relaxation of a beach getaway and 50 per cent love the indulgence of a luxury vacation.
