A MAN was stunned when he received a visit from the police after a “meteorite” blasted a gaping hole in the roof of his Clio.
Panicked locals had called the cops after they heard an ear-splitting sound that caused tremors to shake the ground.

This morning residents reported hearing “a big resonant boom,” which had woken them from their slumber and left them “shaking with fear.”
A cohort of police and firefighters quickly arrived and tried to track down the owner of the vehicle.
Romain was asleep until police knocked on his door and gave him the unfortunate news that he had acquired a new sun roof.
He told TF1 info: “I asked them ‘what’s going on?’, they told me ‘it’s complicated, you’ll see…’ And I saw… ”
The shocked owner explained his thoughts were “oh well s**t… Honestly, I think I’m taking it well.”
Although it is unclear as to what caused the damage it is thought “significant impact,” was needed to peel open the metal roof which lead firefighters to suspect it was a meteorite.
Fire crews tipped the car on its side to try and find a clue to solve the mystery – but all they found was a “small piece of wood or stone.”
However, this was enough to spark fears of radioactivity and prompt the police to cordon off the area.
Captain Matthieu Colobert, chief fire fighter said: “Until proof to the contrary, it is one (a meteorite) .
“We have not found the object, so the doubt remains. But given the state of the vehicle, everything suggests that it could be one.”
This is not the only time a meteorite has made the news recently as earlier this year we told of a Large meteorite unearthed in Antarctica after thousands of years.
