Jennifer Love Hewitt got candid about the year that was.
Sharing a selfie to Instagram, the 9-1-1 star went into detail about the roller coaster she’s been on for the past 12 months.
“This year I went thru a lot no one knew about. And was grateful for that privacy,” she shared. “I had the greatest time being a mummy at home with my kids. Learned to be a better baker.
“Learned it’s okay to take time for myself mentally, physically and emotionally. Did a lot of praying and manifesting. Belly laughed more than ever. Had the longest cold of my life. Was forced to have more faith than normal. “

The actress also noted that she began enjoying exercise “as a gain for my mental health”, and also “took chances on myself and my bigger dreams”.
She opened up about the experience of losing her mum in 2012 saying, “[I] sat deeper in grief and was able to let more go. Felt my mom around us and saw signs that she was.”
She continued: “Celebrated 10 years with my guy. Got some tattoos. And truly let whatever I needed to learn teach me. And so here I am. Happy, blessed, grateful and filled with hope. I will be praying our world gets better this year and everyone sees less pain, fear and heartbreak. Love to all and Happy New Year!”

But it isn’t the first time the Ghost Whisperer actress has gotten candid in the spotlight.
In 2023, she made headlines after media outlets claimed she looked “unrecognisable” in hew photos.
In August, the 44-year-old took to her Instagram page to show off her new, much shorter, haircut to her 1.5 million followers.
The post has since been deleted, however, it attracted myriad comments from users wondering if she’d had plastic surgery.
She said she hadn’t, but admitted to using a filter.
She later appeared on an episode of the Inside of You podcast with Michael Rosenbaum, sharing that she feels she “can do no right” in terms of ageing in the public eye.

Although she didn’t want to say ageing is hard because she does feel privileged to be living life, she shared that “ageing in Hollywood is really hard”.
Hewitt highlighted the hate she received after “[throwing] on a filter” while she got her hair done in August, noting she did so because she ”had not a stitch of makeup on.”
“It was just a filter that, like, at the time, looked nice in the light at the salon. I really gave it no thought,” Hewitt told Rosenbaum.
“A bunch of people were like, ‘Jennifer Love Hewitt is unrecognisable. She’s unrecognisable, so she’s gone to filters because she doesn’t want us to know how bad she actually looks now in her 40s,'” Hewitt noted of the backlash.
