TELLY fans have been warned over a string of changes to their TV sets, including one popular channel that’s being renamed after 14 years.
AMC Networks UK, which operates channels as part of a joint venture with Paramount Global, is refreshing its channel portfolio this November.
AMC Networks UK is due to roll out these renames to on-demand and streaming services, too.
As part of the refresh, CBS Reality – home to Judge Judy and To Catch a Killer – has dropped its name after more than a decade.
CBS Reality will soon be known only as True Crime.
Meanwhile, sister channel Reality Xtra will become True Crime Xtra and the +1 channel will be renamed True Crime+1.
Horror and sci-fi channel Horror Xtra is also set to receive a revamp, being renamed as Legend Xtra later this month.
The content will remain the same – it’s just the name that’s changing.
AMC Networks UK is due to roll out these renames to on-demand and streaming services, too.
So, the existing True Crime by CBS Reality service, on various streaming services, will become True Crime UK.
This will affect all Freeview viewers, as well as Sky, Freesat, YouView and Virgin Media customers.
It forms part of plans to provider a more “clearer look and offering,” according to a statement from the broadcaster – an effort which first began in mid-2022.
The channel changes will be finalised on 22 November.
After this date, channel titles CBS Reality and Horror Xtra will be wiped from telly screens across the country.
