PARENTS have hailed a simple item as the “best travel item ever” for the help it provides them when flying with kids.
Dealing with youngsters is difficult at the best of times, but in the high-pressure situation of a long flight, it’s much tougher.

However, a very convenient item has made things much simpler for those flying with their little ones, not to mention much cleaner as well.
The Linkidea airline tray table cover provides a pouch that slips over the tray table, complete with pockets to store personal items, while also providing protection from germs.
People aren’t always aware of it, but the tray table is one of the dirtiest parts on the plane.
You don’t know who was using it before you, or what they were doing there – and flight attendants don’t always have time to give it a good clean.
Sun Online Travel’s resident flight attendant explained: “The tray tables can be disgusting – I’d always recommend bringing some alcohol wipes and giving it a clean before you sit down.
“As much as we’d love to give everything a thorough scrub, we don’t always have time to and it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
“Trust me, I’ve seen people using the trays to change their baby’s nappies, rest their bare feet and all sorts. You don’t want to be eating off that, do you?”
One person who swears by the covers is Meaghan Kenny, a travel expert who writes for CN Traveller.
She said: “I purchased this travel essential, and now, a few flights later, I will never fly without it again.
“When I board my flight, I slip on the tray table cover and immediately feel at ease.
“It’s the simple travel accessories like this one that can make all the difference on your next flight.”
The covers can be bought from £16.95 on Amazon and promise users “a clean tray to eat and work on”.
Similar covers have received plenty of glowing five-star reviews on Amazon, particularly from parents.
One wrote: “It’s something that (if you’re a parent flying with small kids) isn’t totally necessary but it makes things incredibly convenient.
“Just picture yourself trying to juggle your “baby in lap” passenger while also trying to hold all the baby things, now imagine where you’re going to put those baby things while holding your toddler back from climbing onto the stranger sitting next to you.
“Yeah, you would want this.”
Another said: “I had a lot of activities to keep my toddler busy on the plane, but didn’t want to have to keep reaching down for his backpack.
“This made organising everything so much easier, not to mention keeping our tables clean.”
A third revealed an extra handy element to the cover, saying it stops her forgetting important items.
They added: “When it’s time to deplane I can just leave everything in the pockets and fold it up quickly to put in my bag.
“It’s so nice to know it’s all in there and I didn’t accidentally forget anything. Seriously, BEST. TRAVEL ITEM. EVER.”
Meanwhile, this flight attendant revealed the 12 items she gets from the pound shop before flying.
And this woman revealed a game-changing £1 travel item she never leaves behind.
