David Raya already eyeing next transfer from Arsenal just two months after signing on loan from Brentford

DAVID RAYA is already eyeing his next transfer… just two months after signing for Arsenal on loan from Brentford.

Spanish keeper Raya’s summer switch to the Gunners has been heavily scrutinised, with boss Mikel Arteta arguing he wants two world class keepers competing at the club.

Since joining on an initial £3m loan with a £27m purchase option, the ex-Brentford goalie has started every Prem game for Arsenal since his debut at Everton on September 17.

Raya came through a few hairy moments to help Arsenal earn a vital 1-0 win over Manchester City before the international break.

Arteta’s men are currently joint top of the Prem, level with rivals Tottenham, after narrowly missing out on the title to Pep Guardiola’s City last season.

But when asked about making his loan permanent next summer, Raya admitted he could see himself moving to SPAIN instead.

He said: “I don’t like to look to the future, but the perfect end would be to win a title with Arsenal and to be called up to the national team for the Euros.

“Would I like to play in La Liga in the future? Yes, of course… but at the moment I am at Arsenal. I am very happy and we will see what happens in the next few years.”

Meanwhile, Raya insists he has a “very good relationship” with Aaron Ramsdale – despite taking his No.1 jersey at Arsenal.

Ramsdale’s future in North London – with England’s Euros campaign fast approaching – is now in major doubt, having also made way for Raya in the Champions League.

After last appearing in the Prem on September 3, Ramsdale’s only minutes have come in a 1-0 Carabao Cup victory away at the Bees.

However, Raya suggests the pair are still fighting to prove themselves to Arteta.

Raya explained: “The relationship [with Ramsdale] it’s very good. We are mates, which is the important thing. We have a very healthy relationship. There are no problems.

“We push each other every day in training: when he’s a little bit down, I push him, and when I’m a little bit down [he does the same].

“I’m going to fight for it. Arteta gives me the confidence to be there. He wanted to have two top players in each position. It was up to me to find the time and fight to get the minutes.

“I don’t want to think beyond that. If there are rotations, as there are in any position, I’m going to help on and off the pitch.”
