Millions of Google Chrome users just got three huge freebies – and they’re so handy

GOOGLE is updating Chrome with three new tricks to make your life much easier.

If you’re a Chrome super-fan, you’ll definitely want to learn these hacks.

Google has added several new shortcuts that make it much easier to find what you’re looking for.

All you need to do is type @tabs, @bookmarks or @history into the URL bar.

You can then click search and add a word to quickly search through any of those features.

For instance, you could search for @tabs YouTube to quickly navigate to your open YouTube tab.

This is great if you’ve always got lots of Google Chrome tabs open.

Similarly if you know you’ve saved a great recipe to bookmarks but don’t want to manually find it, you could search for something like @boomarks pie.

And the same is true for history: you can quickly revisit a page that you’ve already landed on.

“Sometimes, finding the tab or bookmark you’re looking for in Chrome can be tough,” Google explained.

“Good news: The Chrome address bar on desktop just got an upgrade that can help.

“Now you can directly search through your Chrome tabs, bookmarks and history right from the address bar.”

To use the new features, make sure you’re updated to the latest version of Google Chrome.

You can hop between tabs by pressing Ctrl + Tab or Ctrl + Shift + Tab.

The shortcut to open your homepage in the current tab is Alt + Home.

You can minimise the current window with Alt + Space and then press N.

And maximising the current window is done with Alt + Space then X.

You can see your downloads with Ctrl + J.

Open up your Clear Browsing Data options with Ctrl + Shift + Delete.

You can snap your cursor to the address bar with Ctrl + F5.

Quickly turn full-screen mode on or off with F11.

Change zoom level with Ctrl + + and Ctrl + -.

And reset page zoom level with Ctrl + 0.

You can close the current window with CMD + Shift + W.

Hide Google Chrome quickly with CMD + H.

And quit Google Chrome with CMD + Q.

Quickly navigate to your Settings by pressing CMD + ,.

Clear your browsing data with CMD + Shift + Delete.

You can add www. and .com to a site name and open it in the current tab with the site name + Ctrl + Enter.

And you can open that in a new tab by adding a Shift too.

You can activate fullscreen mode with CMD + Ctrl + F.
