Car pro Zach and ex car dealer Ray said a series of car owners have seen their vehicles stuck in repairing shops for months.
On the video, Ray claimed drivers are struggling to receive parts due to a shortage in the motors industry.
Zach said: “It is the parts shortage, this is an ongoing phenomenon that we’ve been experiencing for a couple of years now and it could get worse.”
The influencer claimed the shortage is caused by recent car factories strikes across the US and Canada.
The United Auto Workers began walkouts against Detroit automakers General Motors, Ford and Stellantis four weeks ago.
The factories supply parts and vehicles worldwide – including popular F-Series pickup trucks and large Ford and Lincoln SUVs.
The Youtuber said the shortage is now having “far-reaching effects” for dealerships, body shops, and car owners.
Zach added: “It has gone worse as the recent UAW strike, people who own their cars cannot get them repairs because the parts to fix them are not being produced in high enough quantities.”
Over 8,700 workers have walked out – leaving mechanics and drivers unable to fix their vehicles.
Ray said: “The sad reality is many of the parts manufacturers have started to lay off employees.”
Manufacturers claimed the strike is profoundly affecting their production – with millions worth of loses.
But things could get even worse as the union has now threatened further action against Jeep maker Stellantis.
The UAW is asking for 40 percent pay raise over four years, as well as a four-day work week, paid at five, and better retirement and health benefits.
The motorists claimed those with vehicles waiting for key parts to be issued could splash thousands in renting a new car replacement.
Zach slammed: “This is the part shortage in America. This is the downstream effect of what happened with chip shortage, and supply chain issues two years ago.
“It is now being magnified by the UAW strike.”
The video has now gained more than 20,000 views and hundreds of comments from worried drivers.
One mechanic said: “As an auto mechanic I have seen the dealer parts problem come up repeatedly in the last few weeks.
“Even if the part is in the local warehouse the dealer can’t get it because of the strike. We are at their mercy and often nothing we can do.”
Another slammed: “I’m living this parts shortage nightmare!
“My 2021 Silverado (28,000 miles) which had a major engine failure has been sitting in the shop since July 7th waiting for parts which is expected to arrive some time in late October.”
It comes as EV owners could be forking out thousands more on repair bills due to a shortage of mechanics who know how to fix them.
Drivers may end up paying the price due to a lack of EV-qualified technicians and independent repair shops across the globe.
