A CAR brand loved by Brits is scrapping one of their most popular motors after 12 years in service.
Volkswagen will be axing production of this particular model before the end of the year.

The award-winning Volkswagen up! is a small city car which was brought in as part of a trio of boxy motors in 2011.
It was a good budget option for Brits as it started from less than £8,000 when it was first released 12 years ago.
The other cars released alongside it, Skoda Citigo and SEAT Mii, were both discontinued some time ago.
The car-making giant also released the e-up! in 2013, which swapped the petrol engine in the popular car for an electric motor.
Many of the popular motor’s biggest rival cars, including the Citreon C1 and Peugeot 108, have already been discontinued.
And another beloved small car was taken off the market this year, the Ford Fiesta.
After Volkswagen take the up! out of circulation, the Polo supermini will be their smallest and cheapest model.
It comes after the Volkswagen Group also said that it will stop making Seat cars, including the Ibiza and Leon models.
Chairman Thomas Schafer said that some Seat models like the Leon hatchback will be rebranded as “Cupra” motors.
It is not yet known what will happen to current Seat dealerships in the UK.
But Seat could soon make a comeback – as an e-scooter brand.
And, the company scrapped plans for a £1.7billion factory for its flagship EVs – in a major blow to the “high-volume” motors.
