RYDER CUP venue Marco Simone has been savaged by a terrifying fire.

The golf course, located near Rome, Italy, was the scene of a huge blaze on Thursday.

Viral footage emerged online appearing to show a grandstand in flames.

According to Golfweek, local news said five teams of firefighters had arrived at the scene to tackle the blaze.

No injuries have yet been reported.

The venue played host to a memorable Ryder Cup just days ago.

Europe prevailed 16.5 to 11.5 as they trounced their American rivals.

Thousands of fans crammed onto the golf course over the three days of action which starred the likes of Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka.

They saw a dominant European side stretch their unbeaten home record beyond 30 years.
