ELECTRIC car sales have plummeted as relived drivers opt for petrol and diesel vehicles.
The drop in motorists purchasing EVs comes as Rishi Sunak put the brakes on banning all other car types.

The Prime Minister was originally looking at stopping all sales of petrol and diesel cars by 2030 – but had to push it back five years.
And now figures show the amount of electric vehicles bought in September, dropped by nearly 15 per cent.
Despite the month’s 45,323 electric motors registrations, the fall saw the market slip by 16.6 per cent, according to AutoCar.
Industry leaders have since called for more support in order for Brits to afford the motors ahead of the changes set to come into force within 12 years.
In a major speech delivered from Downing Street last month, Mr Sunak ripped up the expensive net zero policies and delayed the country-wide ban on buying cars that ran on petrol or diesel.
He also heaped praise on The Sun’s Give Us A Brake campaign as we pleaded with ministers not to force unaffordable green transition costs on hard-up households.
Mr Sunak promised that he’s still committed to achieving net zero by 2050.
But he vowed he won’t burden Brits with huge green transition costs.
