VIDEOS of passengers getting angry regularly appear online – but people have now been warned that filming instances of air rage could be dangerous.
Air travel comes with a lot of inherent stress and it’s no wonder that people sometimes get annoyed, especially with other passengers.

However, on occasion, that annoyance builds to the point of a public meltdown, with some people shouting at those they’re sat next to, or even yelling at the flight attendants.
When this happens, other passengers are always quick to whip their phones out and film the altercation to share on social media.
However, a safety representative for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Trey Walters, has said that this is never helpful and only increases the chances of the problem escalating further.
He told Insider: “If someone’s got a cellphone in your face, it could make the situation worse.
“If a flight attendant, for example, is trying to attend to a passenger that’s having an issue, having people reaching their hands out in front of that person’s face, trying to record the situation definitely creates added risk.”
Some airlines have taken steps to try and prevent passengers from filming other people’s outbursts during flights.
One of those is American carrier United, who have rules about what can and can’t be captured by those on board.
The Points Guy reported in 2018 that the airline permits passengers to take photos of “personal events”.
However, their policy goes on to state that “any recording of other customers or airline personnel that creates a safety or security risk or that interferes with crew members’ duties is prohibited”.
Trey Walters is in favour of these rules and hopes more companies will follow suit in the future.
He added: “Hopefully, more airlines will take a stance and encourage people to be kind and considerate.”
Taking pictures of flight attendants can also put them at risk once they’re outside of work.
Sun Online Travel’s resident cabin crew member explained that people regularly search for them on social media after seeing them in photos online.
They said: “There’s people who like the idea of flight attendants and if they’ve seen pictures of us with our name tags on, they’ll look for us online.
“We get people offering us money for our clothes, pictures of our feet, stuff like that. There’s something about the uniforms that is a bit of a fantasy for some people.
“Some of it’s innocent, if not creepy, but there are some more sinister people who will message you from the city you’re in and try and get together, even though they’ve just seen you on a friend’s post online.
“A lot of us take our name tags off once the plane doors are secured because it stops people being able to identify us.”
Meanwhile, this is how flight attendants put themselves at risk while using social media.
And this cabin crew member revealed the three things she always does when checking into a hotel to make the most of her stay.
