TikToker Bikith advised leaving a cup of distilled vinegar in your motor for a couple of hoursTiktok/@bikith69
Bikith told viewers how to bust bad odours for pennies using distilled vinegar.
In her video, she said: “I don’t know why this works, but it does.
“If your car is having some kind of funky smells, put a cup of white distilled vinegar in there.
“Let it sit for a few hours or while you’re at work.
“Then just let it air out while you finish cleaning your car.”
Bikith demonstrated the helpful tip, placing a small bowl of the vinegar in between the driver and passenger seat.
After a little while she came back and was stunned by the result.
She exclaimed: “The smell is gone.”
Distilled vinegar is available at Tesco for as little as 29p.
Normal malt vinegar is brewed similarly to beer using malt grains.
This can then be passed through a still, in the same way that fermented grain is distilled to produce whisky.
The process extracts the colour from the vinegar and intensifies its acidity.
The extra acidity makes it ideal for household cleaning as well as pickling.
Bad smells are often caused by alkaline fumes, which the acid in the vinegar neutralises.
The same goes for stubborn stains and tough dirt, which react with the vinegar and come off more easily.
It comes after the self-proclaimed Queen of Clean backed distilled vinegar as a must-have product that makes almost everything sparkle.
Meanwhile, an expert mechanic revealed how you can avoid losing thousands while renting a car.
