However, some seats offer better views than others, so it’s worthwhile knowing which approach your plane will be making, so you can plan accordingly.

London Heathrow is on the west of the capital, so flights from most places in Europe or Asia will ordinarily have to fly over the city before touching down.

That’s why Instagram account ub1ub2 has revealed which seats you should book when flying to the airport.

In a video, they showed scenes of some of London’s most famous monuments captured from the air.

Account @london.travelers shared the footage with the caption: “Flying into Heathrow?

“Here’s a handy tip by @ub1ub2 Always choose the F seats, for a more comfortable and enjoyable journey.”

The F seats are typically the window seats on the right hand side of the plane, on smaller aircraft with three seats either side of the aisle.

Therefore those seats offer a great view of the city from the south of the up towards the north.

Landmarks like the houses of parliament, the gherkin and tower bridge are all seen in the video, among others.

A lot of people appreciated the tip, with thousands liking the video.

One user wrote: “Lovely view; thanks for the tip!”

Another said: “Facts!!! I got a nice pic of the Eye while flying in.”

A third added: “Oh yes I did, was just an amazing view of London city.”

However, other users were quick to point out that passengers had to make sure they were flying in the right direction for the hack to work.

One wrote: “You know they have different approaches to Heathrow right.”

Another added a different suggestion for tennis fans.

They said: “Heads up for tennis fans—A seats are good if you want to see Wimbledon from the air!”

The seats on the right of the plane might give you the best views of London, but sitting on the left could be more comfortable.

According to founder of AirAdvisor, Anton Radchenko, who said: “The window seats on the left side typically have more headrest room than the right.”

He added that this was “due to the location of the windows” with the door at the front pushing the wall slightly further away from the seats than it is on the other side of the aircraft.

Meanwhile, this is how to always get the best seats on a Ryanair flight.

And this is what your plane seat says about you.
