The limited edition shirt was designed as part of a celebration for the world’s oldest international fixture.
England stars such as Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham wore the shirts as they warmed up for the historic fixture.
However, when Gareth Southgate‘s players took the field they were wearing the regular England shirt.
Whereas Scotland continued to wear their retro version.
And fans watching on flocked to social media to criticise England’s decision to change.
One fan fumed: “Hold on England in their usual kit wtf?”

A third wrote: “The sexiness of the Scottish kit makes the atrociousness of the England kit all the more evident.”

One complained: “The England shirts tonight aren’t available to buy, but will be up for auction. Why is it always an auction? Raffle them off!”
The shirts will be sold in a one-off auction on September 30 with the proceeds going to Alzheimer’s Society.
