THIS is the ridiculous moment a rogue racehorse ‘moonwalks’ to victory after dancing across half the track.
Two-year-old Sayedaty Sadaty channelled his inner Michael Jackson by scooting over the Kempton surface.
Despite scooting all of 20 yards, smashing through a rail and sending his jockey airborne on his previous run, punters weren’t totally put off.
Owned by a powerful owner in Ahmad Al Shaikh, Sayedaty Sadaty was sent off 2-5 favourite.
There is no questioning the young horse’s talent, however, direction is a different matter.
Sayedaty Sadaty starts out of the stall strongly, easily running towards the front of the field, it looked like a textbook run until the sixth furlong.
Punters who took the short price would have been counting their winnings – until it all looked to go drastically wrong.
Described by Racing TV as ‘moonwalking’ across the track, Sayedaty Sadaty drifts towards the nearside rail – a mile away from rivals.
This evidently was not a cunning tactic made by Derby-winning jockey Richard Kingscote, who swiftly told the horse off with a smack in a tempt to correct the sat-nav error.
Despite his rider’s efforts, Sayedaty Sadaty proved massively stubborn and continued to take directional control, hugging the rail but ultimately running out a comfortable winner.
Talented horses are not unfamiliar for the owner.
He had 2020 and 2022 Derby runners-up Khalifa Sat and Hoo Ya Mal – who subsequently sold to Australia for £1.2million.

He also owns Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud hero Dubai Mile.
Still relatively early on in his racing career, the pressure is on for Sayedaty Sadaty to live up to his peers.
The Group 2, Newmarket Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes is set to be the next race for this talented, yet unusual horse.
With £70,888 going to the winner, this is a considerable jump from the £4,000 he won at Kempton.
The 1m2f Royal Lodge Stakes is held at the Rowley Mile racecourse in Newmarket.
A famously undulating track – especially near ‘The Bushes’ and ‘The Dip’ – the penultimate furlong is downhill followed by an incline at the finish.
Not only does the course provide natural challenges, but is also wide enough to allow for 35 runners at once.
If his performance is anything like the performance at Kempton, Sayedaty Sadaty may end up using more energy running sideways than running forwards, which could cost him the win.
