Man Utd ‘in advanced talks with tech company over new shirt sponsorship deal worth £60M A YEAR to replace TeamViewer’

MANCHESTER UNITED are allegedly in “advanced talks” with a tech company over a new shirt sponsorship deal worth £60million-a-year.

The Red Devils have endured a nightmare start to the campaign on the pitch and are already six points behind neighbours and reigning champions Manchester City.

Erik ten Hag‘s side have already lost twice, to Spurs and Arsenal, sandwiching unconvincing home victories over Wolves and Nottingham Forest.

On top of that they have already lost full-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia to injury as well as being rocked by boss Ten Hag’s public fall-out with Jadon Sancho.

Meanwhile, away from the pitch, £85.5million star Antony has been accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin.

Antony has now issued a full statement as he confirmed he would not be returning to train with Manchester United ”until further notice”.

That came after the public backlash over United’s plans to bring Mason Greenwood back into the squad before shipping him out on loan to Getafe and the proposed takeover of the club looking to be over.

But despite all of that, United are still attracting plenty of interest from potential sponsors.

And now The Athletic states they are deep in discussions over a new front-of-shirt sponsorship with US technology company Qualcomm.

The Premier League giants are looking for a package that would net them £60m per year and it is expected to begin in time for the start of next season.

United are currently in a deal with telecommunications company Qualcomm.

But they have been looking for a new shirt sponsor since TeamViewer announced last year that they did not intend to renew their agreement.

They entered a five-year agreement in 2021 worth £47m yearly but both they and United agreed in December that the club now had the option to buy back the rights to their front-of-shirt sponsorship.

This fresh update on the potential replacement for them also states that United declined to comment on the potential Qualcomm deal.
