GERMANY have sacked manager Hansi Flick after a disastrous run.

That was their fourth defeat in their last five matches and their heaviest defeat since being thrashed 6-0 by Spain in the Nations league back in 2020.
Flick only replaced Joachim Low in August 2021, but after winning just 12 of his 25 games in charge, he has now been axed.
His two assistants, Marcus Sorg and Danny Rohl, have also been sacked with immediate effect.
DFB President Bernd Neuedorf confirmed: “The committees agreed that the men’s senior national team needs new impetus after the recent disappointing results.
“With a view to the European Championships in our own country, we need a spirit of optimism and confidence.
“For me personally, it is one of the most difficult decisions of my time in office so far because I appreciate Hansi Flick and his assistant coaches as football experts and people.
“But sporting success is the top priority for the DFB. So the decision was unavoidable.”
Rudi Voller, Hannes Wolf and Sandro Wagner will look after the team on a one-off basis on Tuesday against France.

The dismal run of results for the former Bayern Munich boss, who led the Bavarians to the Bundesliga title twice, also included a disastrous World Cup exit last winter.
Germany failed to get out of the group stage after losing their final game against Japan.
They have recorded just three wins from their last 12 fixtures – beating Oman, Costa Rica and Peru.
