Gary Neville slams ‘toxic, desperate’ Glazers and claims they’ve ‘run out of money’ as he slates Man Utd takeover update

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville lashed out at the Glazers after it was revealed they are planning to take the club off the market.

It has been claimed that the Glazer family have failed to get close to their valuation of the club and intend to end the sale process.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville slammed the Glazers once morePA

The Glazers could end Manchester United’s takeover processAFP

Neville was left fuming with the Red Devils’ unpopular owners and urged them to resolve this “toxic” situation.

However, the Sky Sports pundit doesn’t believe the takeover saga is over just yet as the “desperate” Americans have “run out of money” and need investment in.

Neville tweeted: “Morning and it’s Arsenal v United for me today on @SkySports. Join us if you like.

“P.S. I don’t believe the Glazers not selling/doing anything story. They have to do something.

“They’ve run out of money and the financial situation is desperate. They need investment in.

“They’re also having a toxic impact on the club from the inside out. The negligence continues for now but I don’t think it can go on without some action on raising funds.

“Also who would come in as a minority alongside them with the damage it would do to their reputation.”

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe posed as the likeliest candidates to take over United.

Sheikh Jassim appeared to hold the advantage as he bid £6billion for a full takeover, compared to Ratcliffe’s offer for majority ownership that would see the Glazers retaining a minority stake.

SunSport reported how Jassim was close to finalising a deal – with Neville’s comments backing that up.

But it’s now claimed that the Manchester giants’ owners actually want closer to £10bn to sell.

The same source alleges that the American chiefs will try and sell the club again in 2025.

It’s believed they think the financial environment in two years time will attract more bidders, especially from the US due to the 2026 World Cup that will be staged in America, Mexico and Canada.

This comes after the most recent set of financial figures showed United’s gross debt stood at a staggering £725million in the quarter ending in June.
